About Us
Established in 2004, by Amarillis Rockhill, BCCA began as a dance school in a small studio in downtown Bridgeport. Over the years our program evolved into a place for all art forms and mediums. Our community of BCCA students and their families consider all our past and present members as a family. The primary goal of BCCA is to provide students of all backgrounds with a safe nurturing place. Students learned much more than the arts, they received assistance with school work, lifelong memories, and the kind of experience and contacts that opened doors for them and their future endeavors. Our emphasis is the use of the arts as a vehicle to foster individual development, social responsibility, and to nurture creative thinking.
Our mission
It is the mission of the Bridgeport Connecticut Center of The Arts (formerly Bridgeport Children's Conservatory Of The Arts) to offer instruction, opportunities and life experience in a fun, comfortable and developmentally appropriate environment to students of all skill levels. Our emphasis is the use of the arts as a vehicle to foster individual development , social responsibility and to nurture creative thinking.
“Individualized instruction and focus on strong foundational skills provide students with a holistic and impactful learning experience that prepares them for success in both academics and future endeavor”
— Amarillis Rockhill, Founder of BCCA
